Why Build a Masjid?
A Masjid can be built for just £5,000, providing space for around 100 worshippers, a place for congregational prayer, and a foundation for educating children and future generations in the words, wisdom, and guidance of the Qur’an. Beyond being a place of worship, a Masjid serves as a center for learning, reflection, and community engagement, offering educational programmes, youth activities, and guidance for all ages. It becomes a hub where people gather for religious, social, and communal purposes, fostering unity, spiritual growth, and mutual support.
A new Masjid is more than a building—it is a lasting gift for the worshippers, their community, and for the glory of Allah (SWT). It provides a sacred space for prayer and contemplation, educational programmes, daily gatherings, and other essential community services. Masjids are a symbol of hope, resilience, and the heart of any thriving community.

“Whoever builds a mosque, desiring thereby Allah’s pleasure, Allah builds for him the like of it in Paradise.” [Bukhari]

For the ultimate ongoing reward, be part of our “build a mosque each year” scheme. You’ll join with others with the same vision to build a masjid for a community in places like Africa every year. The Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing reward) gained from donating towards this beautiful project is immeasurable.

Build A Masjid
New masjids transform remote communities by providing accessible worship spaces and creating spiritual centers that bring people together.
Masjids are thin on the ground in places like rural Uganda, amongst other places in Africa. Worshippers often have to walk long distances in all weathers simply to congregate in prayer – this daily challenge, on top of the constant demand to find work, food, and water for their families. But, more than simply a place to pray, a Masjid, by its nature, brings people together to create the heart of a community. And you can help. Your donations provide the means to build a mosque that will transform the lives of people in such communities. For them, less time to walk for worship means more time for prayer.
