Bangladesh Floods Emergency Response – Completed
Bangladesh has witnessed one of the most devastating floods in its history. Heavy rains, breaches in flood control systems, and overflowing rivers left millions stranded, without electricity, and cut off from basic necessities. Entire areas in Feni district, including Parshuram, Fulgazi, and Chhagalnaiya Upazilas, were submerged, with communication systems and rescue efforts severely hampered.
Faced with this crisis, we launched an urgent appeal. On Thursday 12th September 2024, our UK deployment team travelled to Bangladesh to plan, pack, and distribute vital aid.
What We Did
With the support of the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Coast Guards, we successfully distributed 500 emergency food packs, reaching approximately 3,000 beneficiaries in the flood-affected area of Feni municipality.
Each food pack contained:
- Rice
- Sugar
- Wheat Flour
- Cooking Oil (Soybean)
- Noodles
- Dried Beans, Peas and Lentils
- Potatoes
- Water Purification Tablets
- Salt
These packs provided immediate relief to families suffering from food insecurity and malnutrition during the floods.
