Sri Lanka Emergency & Livelihoods Appeal
As-Salaam Foundation is preparing a humanitarian deployment to Sri Lanka between 29th March and 7th April 2026, where two team members, including our trustee Gohar Khan, will personally oversee and distribute potentially life-saving aid to some of the most vulnerable communities.
Sri Lanka continues to face severe economic hardship. Rising living costs, food insecurity, lack of clean water, school dropouts, limited healthcare access, and loss of livelihoods have left thousands of families struggling to survive with dignity.
The Project
This appeal will deliver essential food packs and cooked meals to families facing hunger, provide access to clean drinking water through hand pumps and water tanks, and support children with back-to-school packs and bicycles to prevent school dropouts. Medical camps and mobility aids will support elderly and disabled individuals who currently lack access to basic healthcare, while livelihood support such as sewing machines for women and fishing boats for coastal workers will help families rebuild sustainable sources of income.
