What Was the £1 for 1 Appeal?
Alhamdulillah, the £1 for 1 Appeal by As-Salaam Foundation was a powerful and successful Ramadan initiative that brought communities together in the spirit of giving.
With just £1, donors were able to provide a hot, nutritious iftar meal to a fasting person—and by the mercy of Allah, we successfully fed 34,640 individuals across six countries: Pakistan, Yemen, Uganda, Nepal, Palestine, and Sri Lanka.
The Impact We Delivered
This appeal reached some of the most vulnerable communities in the world—families facing poverty, conflict, and food insecurity. For many, the uncertainty of iftar was replaced with relief, dignity, and nourishment.
Across each country:
- In Pakistan, families struggling below the poverty line received warm meals to break their fast.
- In Yemen, where millions face acute hunger, your support brought critical relief.
- In Uganda, including refugee communities, meals were distributed to those in desperate need.
- In Nepal, where many survive on minimal income, families were supported during Ramadan.
- In Palestine, food aid helped families facing ongoing hardship and restrictions.
- In Sri Lanka, where economic crisis has driven food prices up, your donations made a real difference.
Why It Mattered
For thousands of people, your £1 was more than just a meal—it was hope.
It meant being able to break their fast with dignity.
It meant knowing they were not forgotten.
It meant sharing in the mercy and blessings of Ramadan.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast will have a reward like his.” (Tirmidhi)
A Rewarding Success
This appeal showed that even the smallest contribution can create a massive impact when multiplied by sincere intentions and collective effort.
Through your generosity, you not only fed thousands—you earned the reward of their fasts and brought ease to struggling families around the world.
Looking Ahead
Following this incredible success, As-Salaam Foundation looks forward to continuing and expanding this initiative, reaching even more people in need in the future.
May Allah accept every donation, multiply your rewards, and allow us to continue serving those most in need.
“Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.”
