Give a Child the Chance to Learn Again
The Back-to-School Gaza Appeal aims to help children whose education has been severely disrupted by the ongoing crisis. With schools damaged, destroyed, or unavailable to many families, children are being deprived of a safe and consistent place to learn.
This project will support the establishment of makeshift learning spaces and provide vulnerable children with essential school supplies, helping them return to education in a safe, structured environment.
For families already struggling to survive, the cost of preparing a child for school can feel impossible. Our appeal aims to remove that burden and give children the opportunity to learn, grow and look towards a better future.
Despite everything they have endured, children still deserve an education.
The Reality Facing Families – Meet Kefaya and her Three Children
Kefaya is a single mother of three.
Like so many parents in Gaza, she is trying to protect her children and give them the best possible future despite circumstances no parent should ever have to face.
As the new school year approaches, preparing three children for education is another challenge placed upon her shoulders. School supplies that many families would consider basic necessities can become an overwhelming financial burden.
Kefaya’s story represents thousands of mothers and fathers who simply want their children to have the chance to learn.
No parent should have to choose between feeding their family and sending their children to school.
What Your Support Can Provide
Each child supported through the appeal can receive essential school supplies, including:
- School backpack
- Exercise notebooks
- Drawing and creative materials
- Pencils and pens
- Rulers, erasers and sharpeners
- Coloured pencils
- Geometry set
- Lunch box
- Protective book covers
The project helps provide a comprehensive educational kit at an estimated £50.00 per child, including materials, logistics, field coordination, safeguarding and monitoring.
But this appeal is about more than a school bag and stationery.
It is about giving children back something the crisis has taken from them — the opportunity to learn.
Help us prepare children for school. Help us build places where they can learn. Help us give Gaza’s children a chance to dream again.
Back to School. Back to Learning. Back to Hope.
