Over the past seven years, we have been blessed to build numerous Masjids across Uganda, providing vital places of worship and community hubs where they are needed most.
In many rural parts of Uganda, Muslim communities face long journeys on foot — sometimes hours each way — just to attend Friday prayers. Without a local Masjid, families struggle to practice their faith collectively, and children grow up without proper access to Islamic education or a safe place to gather. Masjids are not just prayer spaces; they serve as centres of community life, where the Qur’an is taught, marriages are conducted, and where the poor and vulnerable can find support.
By building Masjids in under-served areas, we have seen communities truly come to life. Over the years, more than 20 Masjids have been constructed, each accommodating around 100 worshippers at a time. This has provided thousands of people with accessible prayer facilities, improved religious education for children, and strengthened bonds of unity among neighbours. In villages where a Masjid was built, we’ve witnessed higher school attendance in Madrasahs, increased community cooperation, and safe spaces where women and youth can also participate in programs.
For just £5,000, you can sponsor the construction of a Masjid in Uganda, ensuring that generations of Muslims will have a house of worship close to home. Each Masjid is carefully planned to be sustainable, serving as a spiritual foundation and a community hub for decades to come.
We are reminded of the words of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him):
“Whoever builds a Masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
By donating towards a Masjid, you are not only creating a sacred space for worshippers, but also laying the foundations for your own lasting reward in this life and the next.
