More than 10 million people required urgent aid, facing hunger, homelessness, and the bitter cold.
In Syria, the situation was even more fragile. After more than a decade of conflict, the country’s infrastructure and healthcare systems were already stretched to the limit. The earthquake compounded existing humanitarian challenges, leaving countless families without access to food, medicine, or shelter. For communities already living in survival mode, this disaster brought them to the very edge.
