Emergency Drought Relief in Togdheer, Somaliland – Completed
Somalia is experiencing its fifth consecutive failed rainy season, creating a severe humanitarian crisis. By mid-2023, over 8 million people—nearly half the population—faced extreme food insecurity, with famine looming in many regions.
The Togdheer province in Somaliland has been particularly hard hit, with over 300 families affected by extreme drought over the past year. Thanks to your generosity, a deployment in January 2018 provided urgent support to this community.
During this mission:
-
147 families received emergency food supplies to help them survive the harsh conditions.
-
8 water tankers were deployed to provide clean and safe water.
-
The salary of a local Madrassa teacher was sustained for six months, ensuring that children could continue their education despite the crisis.
Your support made a tangible difference, delivering life-saving aid, clean water, and education continuity to a drought-affected community in Somaliland.
