Frozen Tears: Winter Warmth for Gaza

Frozen Tears: Winter Warmth for Gaza

They have survived the devastation. Now they must survive another winter.

Imagine putting your children to sleep on the cold, damp ground, wrapped in whatever clothing you can find, while freezing winds and heavy rain tear through your fragile shelter.

For thousands of displaced families in Gaza, this is not a nightmare. It is their reality.

As winter approaches, families who have already lost their homes, loved ones and livelihoods face another desperate struggle for survival.

This winter, don’t let their tears freeze. Be the warmth they desperately need.

Current Situation

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has left countless families displaced, with many forced to seek refuge in overcrowded camps and makeshift shelters that offer little protection against the harsh winter conditions.

For children, elderly people and those living with disabilities, the freezing temperatures, heavy rainfall and bitter winds present serious health risks.

Many families are living in damaged tents without adequate waterproofing, insulation or suitable bedding. As rainwater seeps through their shelters and moisture rises from the cold ground, staying warm becomes an everyday struggle.

With widespread poverty and limited access to essential supplies, these families simply cannot afford the basic items needed to protect themselves from the cold.

They have lost the comfort of their homes. They have lost their sense of security. They should not have to lose their warmth too.

What As-Salaam Foundation Aims to Do

Through our Frozen Tears: Winter Warmth for Gaza appeal, As-Salaam Humanitarian Foundation aims to provide emergency winter relief to 500 vulnerable displaced families across Gaza, prioritising those living in underserved camps where humanitarian assistance is limited.

We aim to distribute essential winter protection kits designed to provide warmth, comfort and improved shelter against the harsh weather.

Each family will receive a winter relief package containing:

  • Heavy-Duty Waterproof Tarpaulin: To reinforce damaged tents and makeshift shelters, providing protection against heavy rain and freezing winds.
  • High-Density Insulating Mattress: To provide a layer of insulation between individuals and the cold, damp ground, offering greater comfort when sleeping.
  • Double Winter Blanket: A thick thermal blanket designed to retain warmth and provide much-needed protection during freezing nights.

Our priority will be vulnerable families, particularly households headed by women, elderly people, persons with disabilities and those living in severely damaged shelters.

Our Goal: 500 Families. 500 Winter Relief Kits. One Mission – Bringing Warmth to Gaza.

Don’t Let Their Tears Freeze This Winter

We may not be able to replace everything these families have lost, but together, we can offer something they urgently need: warmth, protection, comfort and dignity.

A blanket may seem small to us, but to a family exposed to the freezing cold, it can mean everything.

This winter, let your compassion reach those who need it most.

Donate today to Frozen Tears: Winter Warmth for Gaza.

Because no child should have to fight the cold just to survive another night.

Gohar Khan

Somewhere in Gaza tonight, a mother will hold her children close, desperately trying to keep them warm. A father will struggle to protect his family from the rain entering their damaged tent. A child will lie awake, shivering through another cold night.
