New Mosque in Mbale, Kibuku, Uganda
Mbale, in Kibuku District, Uganda, is home to a growing Muslim community devoted to seeking knowledge, practicing their faith, and fostering spiritual growth. Until recently, the community struggled to worship properly, as their previous mosque was made of straw, exposed to harsh weather, and lacked running water, making it extremely difficult to hold prayers or religious gatherings.
Recognising this urgent need, a new purpose-built mosque has been constructed, with a capacity of 150 worshippers and a well providing clean water. This mosque will now serve as a central hub for prayer, Qur’an study, community events, and education for the youth. The community in Mbale is deeply grateful to the Younus family from Sheffield, UK, who generously donated this mosque in memory of their late father, bringing lasting benefit to hundreds of people.
You can also help replicate this life-changing impact in other areas of Uganda. A mosque can be built for £5,000, with an optional well for £700, providing safe, dignified spaces for worship and education to meet the spiritual needs of local Muslim communities.
