First Reverse Osmosis System Installed in Shadi Khan, Attock
We are proud to announce the successful installation of our first-ever Reverse Osmosis (RO) System in Shadi Khan, Attock. This system now provides 400 gallons of purified water daily, ensuring that poor and needy families in the community have direct access to safe, clean drinking water.
This life-changing project was made possible through the generosity of an individual who donated the land for the building, allowing us to establish the facility and install the system. Their selflessness has created a legacy that will continue to benefit generations to come.
Why Reverse Osmosis Matters
Waterborne diseases remain one of the most pressing public health issues in Pakistan. Contaminated water spreads fatal illnesses including typhoid, diarrhoea, intestinal worms, and hepatitis. The human and economic costs are devastating:
-
An estimated 250,000 children under 5 die every year in Pakistan from waterborne diseases.
-
Globally, around 1.4 million children die each year due to unsafe drinking water.
-
Waterborne diseases cost Pakistan’s economy nearly £1 billion annually, straining both families and the healthcare system.
The Impact in Shadi Khan
By providing 400 gallons of purified water daily, the RO system in Shadi Khan will:
-
Protect families from life-threatening diseases.
-
Improve health outcomes, especially for vulnerable children.
-
Reduce the financial burden on households caused by illness and medical costs.
-
Free families — particularly women and children — from the hardship of fetching unsafe water from distant or contaminated sources.
This installation marks a milestone for As-Salaam Foundation as we expand our efforts to tackle the water crisis. With clean water flowing into the community, families can now live healthier, safer, and more dignified lives.
We extend our heartfelt prayers and gratitude to the land donor and all our supporters who made this project possible. May Allah reward you abundantly for every life touched by clean water.
