Libya Floods Appeal
Libya
October 2023
It’s been harrowing since Storm Daniel struck Libya, leading to the devastating collapse of two dams. The aftermath is unparalleled in recent memory. Over 12,500 souls have been lost, and a staggering 10,000 remain unaccounted for. The floodwaters have shown no mercy, particularly affecting the north-eastern cities of Benghazi, Sousa, Derna, and Al-Marj. Entire neighbourhoods, once bustling with life, have been annihilated in the torrents. Many Libyans have lost everything: their homes, their cherished possessions, and for some, their loved ones. We have supported these victims with £10,000 worth of emergency aid including food, water, shelter, clothing and hygiene kits. Our distribution between Oct and Dec 2023 have eased the lives of so many.Total Raised: £10000

Empowering Communities
Bangladesh
August 2023
In Bangladesh 20.5% of the population live below the national poverty line (2019), the proportion of employed population below $1.90 purchasing power parity/day in 2022 was 2.7% and for every 1,000 babies born in Bangladesh in 2021, 27 died before their 5th birthday due to hunger. As part of As-Salaam Foundation's objectives to empower communities, we were able to distribute 10 milk cows to those who need it most. We are hoping that this acts as a means for them to generate a steady income for their families so that they can swim to the top of this vicious cycle of hunger. We also provided a comprehensive 10-week sewing course to 20 determined women. Upon successful completion of the course, these women were presented with a brand new sewing machine. This isn't just a machine; it's a key to self-reliance and financial independence. The training and machine together will allow these women to earn a steady source of income for their families.Total Raised: £7500

Build a Masjid
Uganda
April 2023
Throughout the blessed month of Ramadan, two Masjids have been constructed in Uganda, where we believe they are needed most. This will allow communities to thrive as these Masjid's will prove a safe haven to worship and as a community hub for the locals. For £5,000 you could allow us to build masjids where they are required most, with a capacity of 100 people. Remember the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stated “whoever builds a Masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” so by donating, not only will you be providing a place of worship but laying foundations for your own spiritual rewards in this life and the next.Total Raised: £12000
